WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
NATURAL HEALING FOR BODY AND MIND
The practice of reflexology originated in Egypt, China and India before being introduced to Europe by Dr William Fitzgerald in the 1900's and further developed by Eunace Ingham in the 1930's. She famously said, "If you're feeling out of kilter, don't know why or what about, let your feet reveal the answer, find the sore spot, work it out".
Reflexology is a complementary, therapeutic treatment meaning that it complements other forms of holistic treatments and should never be used as an alternative to, or chosen over medical advice. Reflexology training provides Reflexologists with a the knowledge of anatomy, physiology and reflex zones to activate the body's own healing process. A Reflexologist will never diagnose or claim to cure but will treat you as a whole person based on your individual needs.

Reflexology is based on the belief that energy channels run from the top of our heads to the tips of our toes, passing though all of the organs and systems in our body, systems which are mapped not only on our feet but also on our hands and ears.
If there is a blockage in any of our energy channels, it is believed that ill health may result and the gentle touch used by reflexologists to precisely stimulate specific areas or zones on the foot helps release the potential blockage and encourage self healing. It is much more than a foot massage.
