If you've never experienced reflexology before, you may be wondering what happens during a treatment. I'll explain everything before we begin, so you can feel comfortable and relaxed throughout your visit.
Your First Appointment
I generally have a relaxed conversation with you before you book your appointment to ensure that the time is right for you to have reflexology. To explain further, if you are awaiting any medical tests or results, reflexology may not be advisable at that time.
At your first appointment, I will ask about your general wellbeing and what you would like from your treatment. This gives me the opportunity to understand your needs and preferences so that I can tailor your reflexology treatment to you. I'll also explain the treatment and answer any questions you may have before we begin.
During Your Treatment
During the treatment, you will remain fully clothed but I will ask you to remove your shoes and socks before lying on the treatment couch and ensure you are warm and comfortable. I'll use gentle pressure so that you feel completely at ease and there is no need to talk during the treatment if you don't want to - this is your time to switch off and relax.
If you remain unsure about whether reflexology is for you, please get in touch and and we can chat through your needs to help you decide. All information will be treated with the strictest confidence.
After Your Treatment
At the end of the treatment, you will have time to gently re-energise and we will have a chat about how your found the experience. As everyone reacts differently, you may simply feel relaxed, while some people enjoy taking a little extra time to relax afterwards. It's advisable to drink plenty of water following your treatment, avoid alcohol and ideally, ensure that there are few demands on you for the rest of the day.
